My Story

Meet Bear

My name is Bear Dayton and I am a master leather-smith based out of Denver, Colorado. My love of leatherwork started many years ago while helping my artist mother work with deer hide where I spent many hours of cutting lace and conditioning hides along side her. Later in life I was seduced to the dark side of alcoholism. The booze almost killed me on mothers day 2017, 6 years after my mother’s passing. My doctor at the time told me I could quit and live, or continue drinking and die sooner rather than later. I quit. From freeing myself form the bottle I found my way back into leather work and threw myself into it. Leather-smithing quickly turned into my passion and several months later my path led me here to where I am today! I love the work I do and I adore the connection I am able to create between my clients and their needs, wants, and desires. Every custom piece I make is a promise that your piece is as unique as you are. Thank you for supporting my dreams and keeping me my best self every day.
